Watch Melissa McCarthy 'Spy' Hard in New Trailer, Then Twitter Chat With Her

Move over, James Bond, Melissa McCarthy is horning in on your territory in this first trailer for Spy, exclusively on Yahoo Movies.

The actress, who was nominated for an Academy Award in 2012 for Bridesmaids, is re-teaming with that movie’s director, Paul Feig, for Spy. The tandem, which also worked together for 2013’s The Heat and is in early talks for a Ghostbusters reboot, has also brought along Bridesmaids alum Rose Byrne for the ride.

Judging from this sneak-peek footage, ride is the operative word for the jokes-and-action-packed comedy, also starring Jude Law and Jason Statham.

The Mike & Molly star plays a veteran CIA analyst itching to leave her desk for some dangerous fieldwork. When her fellow agents’ covers are blown, she gets her chance to go deep undercover to infiltrate a gang of arms dealers and prevent a global catastrophe. She also gets to kick major butt.

(If you watch the NSFW red-band version of the trailer, you’ll find McCarthy is even badder.)

To help bide the time until Spy's May 22 release, we recruited McCarthy and Feig for a live Twitter chat today on @YahooMovies at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT! (Psst. McCarthy just joined Twitter this week and is tweeting from her brand new handle @melissamccarthy.) Submit your questions with the hashtag #AskSpyMovie.
