Will Smith mocks Jada Pinkett Smith's 'Lord of the Rings' outfit and fans are in hysterics

The last time Will Smith poked fun at wife Jada Pinkett Smith on social media, she fired back with a smoking-hot bikini selfie. So we can only imagine what she has in mind after his latest brutal takedown of her outfit.

On Thursday the actor — and keen Instagram user — documented his horrified reaction to the Girls Trip star’s off-the-clock look, which involved a pink beanie, a cocoon-ish, brown knit shawl cardigan that falls to her calves, and ankle bootie slippers. It’s comfy, it’s fall-appropriate, it’s — according to Smith — straight out of Lord of the Rings.

Pinkett Smith did her best to ignore his running fashion police commentary as she looked at her phone, but eventually shot him a dirty look and asked what he was “trying to say.” That’s what happens when you use Gandalf GIFs and Bilbo Baggins references to describe what your wife of 20 years is wearing.

Smith also teased pal MC Lyte, who wears zebra-print pajama bottoms and sneakers in the clip.

Pinkett Smith did have her supporters. Halle Berry told Smith to “leave my baby alone! She doing her thang.”

“Jada ’bout to pop you,” observed one commenter, while another joked “one day I’m gonna find me a man this annoying.”

Others piled in on the ribbing, comparing Pinkett Smith’s look to Spinelli from the Disney Channel cartoon Recess and, erm, a hot dog.

The best comparison, however, came from this guy: “Bro, your wife looks like Jada Pinkett Smith.”

Indeed. Your move, Jada.
