Wearing a bra as a shirt is a super hot trend all the Victoria's Secret models love

Even the prettiest and most expensive bras rarely see the light of day. But thanks to the latest sheer trend, undergarments are getting their time in the sun — quite literally. And, as model Sara Sampaio puts it, “Bras are so pretty nowadays that it’s a shame to keep them hidden.”

The Victoria’s Secret model loves to thrown on a blazer with no shirt underneath or even wear just a bra as a top and slip on “a good pair of jeans to bring a little coolness and laid back street feel to it. That way you don’t feel like you are going too over sexy.”

But it takes guts to walk outside of the comfort of one’s home revealing so much skin. (Sampaio, whose job it is to traipse around unclothed, admits she walks her dog a lot in just a slip sometimes. “You just throw on some boots and you are ready to go,” she laughs.)

Her advice though, for those who aren’t in her profession but want to give the trend a try, is “to have fun with clothes and break rules. Make it your own.” She adds, “I think it’s all about how much you are comfortable showing. To me, there’s something a bit badass in showing your lingerie and not caring what other people think of it. If I like it, that’s all it matters.”

Sampaio’s co-worker and fellow Angel Josephine Skriver agrees comfort is key. “You can always tell when someone isn’t comfortable because they’re constantly tugging or pulling on the outfit,” she notes. That’s why she recommends starting with something easy like a low-cut shirt that purposely shows a little too much. Then, it’s easier to take on the trend.

And while the professional lingerie pushers are obviously big proponents of the style, that doesn’t mean they’d wear it everywhere. “Maybe when you are first applying for a job,” Romee Strijd cautions.
