St. Louis man drowns in Palm Springs hotel pool; police don't suspect foul play

A man drowned in the pool at the Sonder V Hotel in South Palm Springs on Sunday morning, police said. On Tuesday, the Riverside County Coroner identified the man as 59-year-old Timothy Seager of St. Louis.

Officers were called to the hotel, which is at 333 E. Palm Canyon Dr., at about 6:40 a.m. Sunday morning and confirmed the drowning, Lt. Gustavo Araiza said. The Palm Springs Fire Department said medics pronounced him dead on their arrival and that he had been in the water for some time. Araiza said foul play was not suspected in the drowning, but did not provide additional details about the circumstances.
