Landfill Fire Near Juarez, Mexico, Sends Smoke Into US

A fire burning near Juarez, Mexico, was blowing smoke into southern Texas and New Mexico, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.

The fire started on Tuesday at a landfill south of Juarez and was yet to be contained, local news reported.

The region was under a red flag warning on Wednesday, the NWS said, with high winds and warm temperatures making fires spread faster.
