We're one month out from Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker, and John Boyega has just dropped a tiny hint about what fans can expect to see from the ninth episode in the epic space saga.

The actor tweeted a still from The Rise of Skywalker featuring his character Finn, captioned simply "The Finn." The tweet received thousands of replies, including comments from fans who felt that Finn didn't get enough character development and was "wasted" in the previous movie, The Last Jedi, and that the writers "did Finn dirty" after giving him such a great introduction as a Stormtrooper-turned-Rebel in The Force Awakens.

While The Force Awakens saw Finn spend most of his time with Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) and Rey (Daisy Ridley), The Last Jedi separated him from the main cast, partnering him with Resistance mechanic Rose Tico in a side-plot that some fans enjoyed... and others hated.

"I really didn’t know many fans felt this way," Boyega tweeted in response to one fan, before replying to another saying: "I hear you! Give it a shot ep 9! I was really adamant on more Finn involvement. Hopefully you like it!"

Plot details surrounding The Rise of Skywalker are still thin on the ground, so it remains to be seen how Finn will factor into the story and who in the ensemble cast he will share the most scenes with, although it has been hinted at that this movie will bring previously disparate characters back together. "This movie is an adventure the group goes on together," said director JJ Abrams. "One of the great things about getting to work on the movie is the dynamic between all of the characters."

One fan theory about The Rise of Skywalker suggested that Anakin Skywalker, the Jedi who eventually became Darth Vader and around whom the entire Skywalker saga has revolved, will return in some way, leading fans to debate who is stronger in the Force: Anakin or Rey. And as much love as he has for Rey, Boyega is firmly Team Anakin, tweeting earlier this month: "I'm sorry guys but Anakin slapping all of us in a pit of lava. Including Kylo."
