3 dead after multi-vehicle crash in York Township Wednesday afternoon, officials say

Update: Coroner releases identification of all three people killed Wednesday.

Three people are dead after a crash Wednesday afternoon that impacted Interstate 83 and Queen Street for several hours, officials said.

York Area Regional Police said two drivers and a passenger died as a result of the crash, which involved a pickup and two sedans. One person died at the scene and the others at WellSpan York Hospital, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

Police say a pickup truck driven by 48-year-old Heath Wilson from York Township exited I-83 southbound to travel north on South Queen Street. The truck left the exit ramp, went through the grass and struck a sedan in the northbound lane of Queen Street, which was driven by a 57-year-old male from York Township.

The sedan came to rest on the I-83 exit ramp to South Queen Street.

After striking the first car, Wilson's pickup hit another sedan in a southbound lane of South Queen Street. That car was driven by 46-year-old Justin Luckenbaugh of York Township.

That impact caused the pickup to roll, and it came to rest on its roof.

Luckenbaugh was pronounced dead at the scene. His 69-year-old aunt, Pok Sun Pritts, and Wilson were transported to the hospital, where they died of their injuries. A second passenger of that car, a 77-year-old woman, was also transported to the hospital.

A release from the coroner's office reported that Luckenbaugh was found "restrained and entrapped in his vehicle at the scene and lifeless at the time of the crash." His aunt was also wearing a seatbelt, but there is no word where she was sitting in the car.

The coroner's office reported that it is believed Wilson may have had a medical event that led to the crash. He was reportedly unrestrained in his pickup.
