2 hurt in small plane crash at Renton airport

Two people were hurt in a small plane crash at the Renton Municipal Airport Monday morning.

The first fire crews to arrive reported that a plane was upside down on the runway with two patients, according to Renton Regional Fire Authority.

One person was taken to a hospital and the other was treated and released.

Firefighters had to control a fuel leak from the plane.

Video from Chopper 7 shows the plane’s wings and tail were broken.

Crews believe the pilot may have been trying to land before the crash but the cause is under investigation.

Units from Boeing Fire, Skyway Fire, and King County Medic One assisted.
