Stump for Trump Girls on Putin, debates, and the road ahead

By Alex Bregman

“Diamond” and “Silk,” the self-described Stump for Trump girls, joined Yahoo News and Finance Anchor Bianna Golodryga on “Yahoo News Live” to discuss Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump, the endorsement of Vladimir Putin and Trump’s standing with African-American voters.

On Putin’s endorsement of sorts of Trump, Diamond told Golodryga: “We have a president now in office that Putin doesn’t respect. So at least Putin knows that he’s going to have to respect Donald J. Trump once Donald J. Trump becomes president.”

On Trump’s debate performance this week and the heated exchange between him and GOP rival former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Diamond said, “I think Donald Trump did a phenomenal job. I think Jeb Bush shouldn’t have been on the stage. He should’ve been backstage counting marbles.” She continued, “He should’ve never came for Donald.”

On Trump’s controversial policy to temporarily ban all Muslims from entering the United States, Diamond agreed: “We have to know how to properly vet these people before they come into our country. We don’t need anybody coming in here gunning down our citizens.”

Responding to a question regarding a recent Yahoo News article about Trump’s plan to win the African-American vote, Diamond and Silk think he has a good chance at winning a lot of the vote. Diamond said, “I think Donald Trump is going to do phenomenal with the African-American community.”

On recent incidents involving Black Lives Matter protesters at Trump rallies, Diamond said: “When you go to an event, you sit down and you act correctly. You don’t get up in the middle of his speech and start mouthing off. … If you want to protest, protest outside, but you don’t do that in the events.” She continued, “Had Black Lives Matter been in church doing that, the deacons would’ve gotten up and kicked them out.”

The last time Diamond and Silk appeared on “Yahoo News Live,” they thought that Dr. Ben Carson would be a great running mate for Trump. This time, Diamond told Golodryga: “The choice is up to Donald Trump.” She continued: “Make sure you get someone who will balance you and not someone who will stab you in the back.”
