Reese Witherspoon and Kate Hudson Celebrate 25 Years of Friendship at Tiffany Bash

Reese Witherspoon and Kate Hudson have been friends for 25 years, which, by Hollywood standards, is like 100.

The blondes were out Thursday night at a party celebrating the launch of jeweler Tiffany & Co.’s renovated Beverly Hills store. The women, both dripping in diamonds, hung out with Jennifer Garner — and reminisced about their friendship, which Hudson gave the hashtag #25yearsstrong.

Hudson, 37, shared this photo of them hugging it out at the party, while Witherspoon, 40, included Hudson in a Snapchat of the party scene:

So how do the women go so far back? At the American Cinematheque Award in October last year, where Witherspoon was honored, Hudson spoke and told the crowd that she had met the “true, modern-day feminist” at the afterparty for the premiere of The Man in the Moon in 1991, Reese’s movie debut. Goldie Hawn’s daughter said the future star of Election worked the room “like a seasoned politician.”

At times, the two actresses have vied for the same roles. Hudson said that early in her career, she often heard the comment, “Well… Reese has the offer. But if she passes, it might come to you.” This might have made the friendship fizzle, but their bond stayed strong.

They even attend each other’s birthday parties, including Witherspoon’s big bash for her 40th earlier this year, when she invited Taylor Swift to put on a private concert. Sounds like it was a rager — and that Hudson is likely to have been hung over.

They’ve hung at celeb events before, including at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in 2011.

Perhaps our favorite moment from their time out last night — the part that they shared, that is — was Hudson’s Snapchat of the two pals returning the borrowed Tiffany jewels they wore to the party. Their friendship was on full display — they leaned on each other — as they reluctantly said goodbye to the gorgeous gems.

They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but not in this case. They have each other.
