Have you been meowing wrong? The 'Super Troopers 2' gang has a tutorial for you
Ever since the release of the 2001 cult classic Super Troopers, fans of the stoner comedy have been “meowing” left and right in tribute to one of the highway cops’ favorite ways to prank unsuspecting motorists. Professional athletes have done it in postgame interviews. Weather forecasters have done it in live broadcasts. There was even a U.S. service member recorded meowing at a checkpoint in Iraq.
As Broken Lizard, the troupe behind the film (as well as other comedies, like Club Dread and Beerfest) hit the promotional circuit for the new follow-up, Super Troopers 2, they’ve pointed out that on numerous occasions, they’ve encountered fans who are meowing all wrong.
“There is one basic, simple rule to the meow game,” explained Paul Soter (watch above), “which is that the word ‘meow’ is inserted in place of the word ‘now.’ It’s not just inserted anywhere nimbly-blimby in a sentence. Its function is to replace the word ‘now.’ I am surprised at how often that is misunderstood.”

How to: “I’m gonna go get a hamburger meow.”
How not to: “Hey, what’s meow going on over there, meow?”

How not to: “Give me 20 meow pushups.”
