When people mess with Kanye West, they can expect to hear back from his wife, Kim Kardashian.

As she has in the past, Kardashian defended West, to whom she’s been married to for four years and shares three children (soon to be four). On Monday, she wrote in a tweet that she wanted to “nip this in the bud right now.”

While she didn’t say exactly what she took issue with, stories about comments West reportedly made during his “Sunday Service” live stream began to surface around the time of her tweet. A video clip, which has since been removed from social media but was captured by TMZ, appears to feature West saying that audiences should continue to enjoy the art produced by controversial figures.

Other outlets also reported that West, in his comments, referenced both R. Kelly — who’s currently the subject of an explosive Lifetime documentary that alleges years of sexual misconduct with underage girls — and Michael Jackson, who was accused and then acquitted of child molestation. The late Jackson is the subject of an upcoming HBO documentary, Leaving Neverland, which features sexual misconduct accusations against him.

Complex reported that West said, “They just gonna pull up full documentaries on him. Then they gonna come with the Michael [Jackson] documentary. … We can all enjoy all their music all we want. I thought I wasn’t going to go there today. If we’re gonna tear down artists, let’s go ahead and take [Leonardo] da Vinci out the Louvre. Let’s take down all the art.”

Kardashian did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

However, she clarified her initial tweet with another, sent an hour later.

While many of Kardashian’s followers said they didn’t know what she was referring to, they agreed, for the most part, that she was doing the right thing in defending West.

They cheered, “I really love how hard she rides for her husband. Another fan wrote, “Yes sis protect your man.”
