Kathy Bates channeling Bruno Mars is exactly what we need right now

Oscar-winning actress Kathy Bates was looking super fly on Lip Sync Battle this week, when she went head-to-head with Disjointed co-star Tone Bell. Everyone in the room was super hyped to have Bates in the house. In fact, the crowd was even chanting her name way before the battle even begun. So, it was even more satisfying when the 69-year-old actress surprised us by rapping Naughty by Nature's "Hip Hop Hooray." Following her performance, Chrissy Teigen stated, "I don't think I could've ever called that for a million dollars." Host LL Cool J asked Bates, "On your bucket list of things to accomplish in your career, how high was performing 'Hip Hop Hooray' on Lip Sync Battle?" Bates responded, "You know it was an unexpected pleasure. I didn't even know it was in my bucket list, and I've been digging through my bucket list, and there it is. It's like a diamond, and I'm like 'Oh my god!'" As for Bates's opponent, Bell tried to get on Teigen's good side when he performed John Legend's "Green Light," which had Teigen responding, "Very smart! Tone, I am not a voter, but John is in South Africa right now, and you might just do. That was amazing." And even though Bell really got the party going with his second performance of Eddie Murphy's "Party All the Time," Bates's performance of Bruno Mars's "That's What I Like" was pure 24K magic. Even Tiegen shared that it was her new favorite LSB moment. "Oh my God, I love me some Bruno. I really do," said Bates. "I gotta tell you, I love that guy. I want to go to his concert. Do you think, maybe, he'll let me come and see his concert?" In the end, Bates won, but it wasn't us who were surprised by the ending. It was Bates, who admitted that she didn't know she would be receiving a commemorative belt. "I don't even know what to say. Seriously. Because I didn't know this was part of it. And this feels really good."
