'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom' teaser promises more dinosaurs, more Jeff Goldblum

Buckle the seatbelt on your gyrosphere, because Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is going to be a wild ride. Universal has released a behind-the-scenes teaser for the highly anticipated sequel, which reveals some plot details — and boasts that Fallen Kingdom has “more dinosaurs than you’ve ever seen before.” Watch it above.

“We’re literally blowing up the island,” says Chris Pratt, who will reprise his role as raptor trainer Owen Grady. The plot of Fallen Kingdom involves a volcano erupting on Isla Nublar, which threatens the lives of the dinosaurs who still roam around the abandoned Jurassic World theme park. Bryce Dallas Howard returns as former park manager Claire Dearing, who has taken it upon herself to save the dinos from extinction, once again. It’s unclear exactly what the evacuation plan entails, but the video does include a shot of a T. rex in the back of a truck.

The teaser also drops hints of an underwater scene, and shows close-up shots of the film’s animatronic dinosaurs — an old-school touch that allows the actors to actually interact with the prehistoric beasts. Perhaps most exciting for longtime Jurassic Park fans, we see a quick clip of returning star Jeff Goldblum, wearing the all-black wardrobe and knowing smirk of mathematician Ian Malcolm. (He appears to be testifying at some kind of hearing, his signature glasses resting on the table beside him.)

The word “intense” comes up a lot in the video, with Howard saying that new director J.A. Bayona is “a genius when it comes to frightening people.” Expect some raptor-ous jump scares when the trailer drops tomorrow.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom opens in theaters on June 22.
