John Oliver calls out Laura Ingraham for being racist

On Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, Fox News host Laura Ingraham was called out for being racist. Last week on her show The Ingraham Angle, Ingraham delivered an anti-immigrant monologue in which she said, “In some parts of the country, it does seem like the America that we know and love don't exist anymore. Massive demographic changes have been foisted upon the American people, and they're changes that none of us ever voted for and most of us don't like.” She later added, “Much of this is related to both illegal and in some cases legal immigration that, of course, progressives love.” Ingraham is no stranger to controversy. She lost advertisers earlier this year after she mocked Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg. Still, Oliver seemed dumbfounded at just how at ease Ingraham was using this bigoted rhetoric. “Wow,” Oliver said. “She just came right out and said it in a scripted commentary, straight down the camera, knowing her mic was on. No economic anxiety. No ‘Some of them are good people.’ Just ‘I don't want people who don't look like this here.’” Oliver made his point quite clear when he said, “You almost want to give her credit for honesty there, and then deduct twice as much credit because she's just being honest about how racist she is.” Ingraham has said that her rant had nothing to do with race, but it turns out that former grand wizard of the KKK, David Duke, agreed with what she was saying. After the show, Duke tweeted that it was “One of the most important (truthful) monologues in the history of MSM.”
