Girl dies after she’s pulled from bottom of hotel pool, Georgia authorities say

A young girl died after drowning in a pool at an Atlanta-area hotel, police and fire rescue officials said.

Officers were called at about 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, about a child found drowned at a hotel on Crecent Centre Boulevard in Tucker, according to the Dekalb County Police Department.

A Google search shows the address belongs to a Holiday Inn Express & Suites.

Rescuers also responded and found the girl at the bottom of the pool, WSB-TV reported, citing the DeKalb County Fire Rescue Department. She had been pulled from the pool by the time police arrived and was unconscious.

Emergency crews performed CPR before the girl was taken to a hospital, where she died, according to The Atlanta-Journal-Constitution.

Her age and identity weren’t released, and it’s unclear what led to the drowning.

McClatchy News reached out to DeKalb County Fire Rescue on July 6 and was awaiting a response.

The incident remains under investigation.

Tucker is about 20 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta.
