After dropping out of college, Anthony Anderson plans to graduate with his son in 2022

Like many successful people, Black-ish star Anthony Anderson is a college dropout. But not for long.

On the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, he explained his family’s connection to Howard University.

“I dropped my son off to my alma mater, Howard University … he’s a freshman,” Anderson told Fallon.

After telling a story about how his son called to tell him that he “found” his future wife just days after being dropped off, Anderson talked about how that tends to run in the family.

“It’s cool, because I found my wife at Howard,” he said.

Later, after Fallon exposed Anderson for not graduating, the actor explained what happened — and what he’s planning to do about it.

“I was paying for college myself, and I ran out of money after my junior year,” he said. “I’ve been speaking with the university … about creating a curriculum that I can take online and at home … so I can walk with my son in 2022.”

Anderson choked up a little but then joked, “So I have four years to finish one year of college.”
