Chris Pratt confirms engagement to Katherine Schwarzenegger — and is congratulated by ex Anna Faris

Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger are getting hitched.

Seven months after they started dating, the Guardians of the Galaxy actor, 39, confirmed the pair’s engagement Monday on social media. Along with a photo of them hugging as 29-year-old Schwarzenegger, daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, flashes her ring, he wrote: “Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!”

Schwarzenegger later shared the same photo and wrote, “My sweet love. Wouldn’t want to live this life with anyone but you.”

Congratulations quickly poured in from their famous friends — Gwyneth Paltrow, Tom Holland, Jason Momoa, Bryce Dallas Howard, Olivia Munn, Rosario Dawson, Katherine’s brother Patrick Schwarzenegger, and the list goes on. However, the one comment getting the most attention was from Pratt’s ex-wife, Anna Faris. She wrote, “I’m so happy for you both!! Congratulations.” In just two hours it accumulated more than 23,000 likes.

This engagement is a speedy one. Pratt and Schwarzenegger, who has written three books and has a lifestyle blog, were first linked in June 2018 when they were spotted on a date at a park. Things accelerated quickly though — she was soon seen with Pratt and his 6-year-old son, Jack, from his marriage to Faris. Pratt made the relationship Instagram-official in December when he posted photos of Schwarzenegger on her birthday.

The engagement announcement referenced their faith, and they are both very religious. (Pratt is currently on a bible-inspired diet and joked that he’d be “hallucinating” by the program’s end.)

Pratt and Faris announced that they were splitting in August 2017, and their divorce was finalized in October 2018. However, Faris has also moved on, and the two seem to be amicable. Pratt and Schwarzenegger took Jack trick-or-treating on Halloween with Faris and her new boyfriend, Michael Barrett.

The quickness of Pratt and Schwarzenegger’s engagement has the internet reeling.

Some wish he had popped the question to them instead.

But there is definitely happiness over the news too.
