The Beyhive Now Thinks Rita Ora May Be ‘Becky With the Good Hair’

Why is the sky blue? What is the meaning of life? Who is “Becky with the good hair?” These are the important questions — and it seems that Beyoncé fans are determined to track down the answer to at least one of them.

Initially, the Beyhive accused fashion designer Rachel Roy of being the woman whom Beyoncé calls out in “Sorry” for cheating with Jay Z. But when Rita Ora posted a sexy Snapchat the same night as Lemonade’s release, fans turned their attention to the 25-year-old British singer instead. In the pic, Ora posed wearing a lemon-embroidered bra and a gold necklace with a letter “J” charm. Coincidence? They think not.

Before we all go jumping to conclusions, however, it’s worth noting that Ora’s post comes on the heels of her filing a lawsuit against Jay Z’s label Roc Nation last December, claiming their working relationship has been “irrevocably damaged” because of the label’s lack of support of her music career. The “I Will Never Let You Down” singer was considered Jay Z’s protégé back when he signed her in 2008, but it seems she didn’t quite take off as planned. The corporation countersued for $2.3 million in February.

Meanwhile, Roy was busy coming to her senses and doing damage control. After deleting the post and setting her Instagram account to private, she released a statement to People to clear the air.

“I want to put the speculation and rumors to rest,” she began. “My Instagram post was meant to be fun and lighthearted, it was misunderstood as something other than that. There is no validity to the idea that the song references me personally. There is no truth to the rumors.” The 42-year-old designer continued, “Consequently, online haters have targeted me and my daughters in a hurtful and scary manner, including physical threats. As a mother — and I know many mothers would agree — I feel that bullying in any form is harmful and unacceptable.”

Roy then did her best to shift the focus from whether she knocked boots with Bey’s better half to bullying as a whole. “I would hope that the media sees the real issue here — the issue of cyberbullying — and how it should not be tolerated by anyone.” She also issued a tweet about her personal beliefs: “I respect love, marriages, families, and strength. What shouldn’t be tolerated by anyone, no matter what, is bullying, of any kind.”

Roy was spotted for the first time since the “scandal” hit on Monday, returning to her Los Angeles home. Ora stepped out on Monday as well — wearing the exact same outfit that Beyoncé donned in her “Formation” music video (!?%$).

Strolling around West Hollywood with some gal pals, the singer rocked a red-and-white printed Gucci silk skirt and matching blouse. For full effect, she completed her look with that now-infamous “J” necklace.

And that’s how you pour gasoline on a fire, folks.
