Khloé Kardashian Shares Her Tips for Getting Over an Ex

Khloé Kardashian knows all about heartbreak. The reality star has had several high-profile relationships over the last few years, and now she’s dishing out some advice on how to get over an ex.

“The busier you are the less you are going to think about something,” she said in a video posted to her website on Wednesday. “So try to consume your thoughts with really productive things. Try to find a hobby and keep yourself busy in a really positive way."

The 31-year-old added that keeping good company helps to cushion the blow: "Surround yourself by friends and family that you love that really occupy your mind — I think that is super important. The more alone you are the more you think about something. You’re just going to overthink and our brains play tricks on us, which is never healthy. And eventually everyday it will get better and better."

Khloé dated rapper French Montana, 31, for several months in 2014. She then was romantically linked to NBA pro James Harden, 26, for about 6 months until they split in February. During their time together, Khloé was busy taking care of her ex, Lamar Odom, 36, as he recovered from his October drug overdose. She and Lamar wed in 2009, but the two had decided to end their marriage when he was suddenly hospitalized. As a result, she put the divorce proceedings on hold. While the two are not back together, he has been spending time with her family, even appearing on Keeping Up With the Kardashians again this season.

"At my core, I don’t believe in divorce,” Khloé wrote in Lena Dunham’s Lenny newsletter recently. “But I came to a point in my marriage where I had to make the choice to take care of my own mental and emotional well-being in order to protect myself and my happiness. I am at peace with that decision and do feel like I honored my vows to the very end."
