For Katie Holmes, the ingredients for a perfect birthday are some scrumptious-looking cupcakes, a bowling excursion, and a smiling Suri.

The All We Had actress and director turned 38 on Sunday (the same day that Brad Pitt and Christina Aguilera had birthdays) and spent it with her 10-year-old daughter, whom she recently said “means everything” to her. Holmes shared two photos of herself with her mini-me on Instagram, captioning them with “birthday vibes.”

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ birthday vibes !

Suri, a Broadway expert despite barely being in double digits, just beams in the second of the two photos. She looks like a happy little girl.

Selfies with mom were just part of the fun. Katie, who is believed to have recently ended her relationship with Jamie Foxx (but may have gone with him to Cabo for a one-night romantic rendezvous for her bday), posted other highlights starting with birthday hats and noisemakers. “Thank you for the birthday love,” she wrote. “I really appreciate it !!!!!!!!”

One of the birthday activities was bowling, but Holmes made it clear she is no pro. The brunette joked about how they were using bumpers.

In Katie’s new film, All We Have, Suri — whose dad is Tom Cruise (though she hasn’t been photographed with him in years) — gets a shout-out in the movie credits. The actress told ABC News that the elementary school kid inspired her during the making of the film.

“My daughter is an incredible little girl, and she was with me every step of the way, and I would be watching movies and taking pictures of the screen for inspiration for composition shots, and she would pause it and take some herself,” Holmes said. “She means everything to me and … you just want to make sure your child knows how special they are.”

Seems like it’s a mutual admiration society.
