20 Mind-Blowing Moments From "The Hills" Anniversary Special

From Cosmopolitan

The Hills' 10-year-anniversary special, That Was Then, This Is Now, finally aired on MTV on Tuesday after what felt like an eternity of teasers. The special was 99 percent Lauren Conrad and if you're a hardcore LC fan, it was everything. For the better part of the hour, viewers had a front-row seat of Lauren driving while her hair perfectly blew in the wind, visiting her parents (who still live in beautiful Laguna), analyzing ~memories~ with talent producer Sophia Rossi, and working (being the boss lady at a Paper Crown photo shoot and chiming in with an idea at a meeting for her Kohl's collection). If you want to relive what you just saw or don't want to bother with all the reruns MTV will probably offer, here's what also happened:

1. She says the name of the special less than one minute into the program. "Everyone talks about the soundtrack to their lives. Ten years ago, this was the soundtrack to my life. That was then, this is now."

2. Lauren has at least 10 different outfit changes. She also has fun dresses for when she's in Thailand and Guatemala.

3. Lauren walks through a hallway of framed Lauren Conrad magazine covers at her mom Kathy and dad Jim Conrad's house in Laguna Beach. LC says this is her mom's doing.

4. Kathy tells Lauren to her face, "Academics wasn't what you did best," after some half-encouraging words about how they always "felt like you gravitated to what you do best."

5. Lauren reveals that Heidi made the first move in their friendship during textiles class. "It was rough, I didn't make a lot friends. Heidi walked up to me, sat down next to me and basically said,'Wanna be friends?' She was the friendliest person I'd ever met. We split a cab on the way home and she was my friend."

6. Zayn's "Pillowtalk" plays in the background as Lauren talks about how she never loved being on camera while "a lot of people wanted to be on camera." It's at this moment that an old clip of Spencer and Heidi leading a pack of partygoers plays. (Interesting editing job, MTV). The segment ends with Lauren saying, "I don't really remember everything that happened. It doesn't always bring back the best of memories."

7. Lauren tries a joke, telling her Paper Crown models, "You guys look super pretty. You should be pretty as a job, professionally."

8. ~Unaired footage break~. Lauren and Jason talk about his problems as present-day LC reveals that Jason wasn't sober the day they filmed that breakup scene. She says she felt responsible for taking care of him.

9. ~Unaired footage break~. Young Kim Kardashian parties at Speidi's house and asks about their jellyfish tank.

10. Lauren reveals that her epic fight with Audrina - the one that ended in #MascaraTear - started when Audrina put a lock on her guest house while living with Lauren. "We just weren't getting along when we were living together." So relatable, Lauren.

11. MTV wrote a script for Lauren and Heidi's Les Deux encounter before they even got there. The script read, "The party's in full swing. Heidi and Spencer may or may not make an appearance. Heidi and Lauren eye each other from across the room. Lauren is on a lookout for a guy."

Present-day Lauren tells Sophie, "You know this is super creepy right. This is creepy that you guys wrote ... this is how your night's gonna be."

12. ~Unaired footage break~. Lauren's voice can be heard over a clip of Spencer partying at Les Deux on the night of the fight. She says, "MTV should care what Spencer did to me. It's not OK that they let him up there … It's not fucking funny when you guys do that. I'm gonna go home now. I don't want to film in the same vicinity as them."

Present day Lauren speaks again: "I definitely felt set up... I was so hurt by these people, I didn't want to be in the same room as them."

13. Lauren corrects talent producer Sophia Rossi in saying her birthday booze cruise - the one where she had an emotional conversation with Heidi - was in fact "a boat party."

14. Lauren reflects on saying good-bye to Heidi and their friendship. "It was us mourning the loss of a friendship, and being like, 'I'm always gonna love you, this is really sad that this happened.' We just can't be in each other's lives."

15. Lauren reveals her husband has only seen one clip of The Hills, and it's of Lauren telling Brody how she's at the Roosevelt pool every Sunday.

16. Lauren makes an interesting remark about high fashion/designer brands while talking about her Kohl's line. "This whole brand we're building is based on accessibility. We want everyone to feel good about how they dress. You don't want to be like, 'This [motions height with hand] is where we are, don't you want to be fancy like this?' Let's all wear clothes together. We have a feel good vibe in our brand."

17. ~Unaired footage break~. Lauren asks, "Can we please be done?" after kissing Brody during filming. "It's the most awkward thing ever. Please. I'm so awkward." No lies were told. I mean, look at them.

18. Sophia and Lauren reveal that the Parisian babe was told to kiss Lauren after their motorcycle ride. Apparently, she "ran like a thief."

19. Lauren and William's two dogs Chloe and Fitz make brief appearances near the end. (TBH, they deserved more screen time).

20. Lauren proclaims she would "absolutely" do The Hills again. No word on whether or not she would use the same ending the second time around.
